Basketball star

So back in mid December Reed started playing basketball. Funny how Casey, the college athlete himself, was surprised when Reed began begging to play! Casey grew up playing himself, then on in high school, then in college. His life was basketball.......however he wasn't opposed to Reed playing, he just didn't want to rush or push it at all! So who knows maybe its in the genes or maybe it's living in a basketball frenzy of a town.....it's all around him so with his love of sports over the past year he is eager to play them! 

To say he's enjoyed playing these past couple months is speaking of it mildly. Even on the cold days, he is begging to go outside and work on his "drills".....He wants to practice dribbling, shooting, etc. whenever he can! Oh yes he got a basketball goal for Christmas.....very good purchase to say the least!

This boy is growing so fast! I guess we've truly entered into the "sports season" didn't think at age 6/kindergarten we'd be there already, but we are........but it's fun to watch him work so hard and enjoy something so much. Go Reed!! He sure has lots of cheerleaders to cheer him on!

2 Months

So 2 weeks later I'm now posting Maggie turning 2 months.......

So on Jan. 30th this sweet girl turned 2 months old.....she's growing so fast!! 

Hitting 2 months we had some big milestones that had been happening from 1 month to 2 month. Like first smiles......

We had a bad case of baby acne from 1 month to 2 month--started at around 4 weeks but by the time she turned 2 months--somewhere between 7-8 weeks it seemed to pass thank goodness.

More sweet first smiles, ugh that awful baby acne! Poor Maggie I think she's the only one of all our babies to have it!

Funny by time I was taking her 2 month pictures the baby acne already looks clearer

We had lots of cooing and back and forth cooing this 2nd month too.....so fun and sweet! The big kids love she is "talking".

Waiting at our 2 month checkup.....she's a big girl weighing in 11lbs., 6 oz.

Everyday life folks.....when you dress yourself 

Can you tell someone likes the pink candy dress.....and yes this is the hair we have to deal with daily! Wonder if Maggie will have these same curly locks??

 This is what this girl has to deal with daily.....lots of kisses, touches, pats, and love......she is one loved on baby sister!

We love you sweet Maggie Starks! So thankful for these past first 2 months you've blessed us with your sweet little life! Your momma wants to keep you little but I know as I've seen with all the others you will continue to grow and grow, so we all try to savor and soak you in daily! You are just a sweet and happy baby girl!

Ok don't want to miss out on capturing how much Maggie is changing! So here's a little catch up of her changes from newborn to 1 month old!

2 weeks old....alert, alert, alert! this baby girl has too much action around her and often has trouble sleeping-- unlike most newborns....hmmm wonder why??!!! but we can't complain that at night time (the quietest time of the day of course) she is actually sleeping!

We love, love, love you precious little Maggie Starks! It always amazes me how fast these sweet babies of ours change so fast, especially the first month! and really the whole first year!

Welcome Sweetness....Part 2

Ok finally working on this camera........little by little I'm making my way through editing all these MILLIONS of photos I have on our camera! So wanted to update more on Maggie's arrival.........

So one of the obvious big changes is we went from being a family of 5 (wow that really is a big number); and to now becoming a family of 6, oh my!!!! And of course with so many people it is nearly impossible to capture "the moment" just right......but regardless memories are still made of what reality looks like, having 4 children now 6 years and under!

yes.....our sweet baby is in that blanket-ha! if you look close enough you can see the top of her head....how did none of us notice that when taking this photo??......oh well, it's not like it isn't complete chaos trying to take a picture of 4 small children in a TINY hospital room....so not kid friendly!

and just some sweet ones of the kids loving on their new baby sister........to say they've enjoyed her is speaking way too lightly of this big change in their little lives! this sweet baby can't get a break! they are all.over.her!!!! it's sweet, but some days a little more wearing than once worrying if my 20 month old or 14 month were going to hurt the newborn baby.....really at those ages they were clueless and lived in their own worlds! but at 6, 4 1/2 and 3 1/2...oh no, they are all about loving, kissing, holding, talking to this baby 24/7!!!!

this big brother is smitten! for the boy who soooo wanted a baby brother, he has truly amazed me with his love and affection for sweet Maggie! they are definitely all smitten for sure, but there is something so precious about an adoring and loving big brother! these girls will definitely have a big brother to protect them and watch out for them!

all us girls!! can't believe there are 4 of us! we have outnumbered the boys!

these are two of my favs........the newly BIG SISTER in the family! she is so sweet to Maggie.....wanting to hold her and ALWAYS wants a picture with her! hard to believe my baby girl is now a big sister....since she was the baby longer than any of the others for over 3 years!
